Chu Sheng's life as a street tough takes a sharp turn when he stumbles into the world of cultivation, convinced that joining an immortal sect will let him turn his fortunes around. Reality crashes down hard: the "Nine Laws of Ascension" is a deranged evil art that feeds on living people, and the future world has been refined into a land overrun by evil spirits.
