Five kids with nothing but their own guts have to become Digimon instead of catching them, burning through their own bodies as fuel to fight a war that keeps asking them to sacrifice more. The show doesn't pretend this doesn't cost something. By the end, you understand why one of them breaks, and you don't blame him for it.

Takuya gets a cryptic text message telling him to catch a mysterious train, and he actually does it. Next thing he knows, he's in the Digital World alongside Kouji, Izumi, Junpei and Tomoki, and everything's falling apart. Cherubimon, an angel Digimon who once stood against the tyrant Lucemon, has turned evil and is devouring the world's Fractal Code to grow stronger. The only way to fight back is through a power passed down from ancient legend: the ability to transform directly into Digimon warriors themselves. By inheriting the power of the Ten Legendary Warriors, the kids set out to find the Legendary Spirits, win back the stolen code and mend the shattered Digital World in a sci-fi fantasy adventure full of action and drama.
