The mystery actually unfolds instead of revealing itself on schedule. Two cases that seem separate turn into one problem, and the show trusts you to keep up without spelling it out. Kei and Yuri tear through a real conspiracy where the answers matter more than watching them cause chaos, which is the rare Dirty Pair story that works because it takes itself seriously without losing the pair's edge.

A space liner explodes, killing three hundred people, yet nobody steps forward to collect the insurance money. The Lovely Angels are back at work, much to Chief Gooley's dismay, and the 3WA's Central Computer gives them this case and a second one at the same time: track down a missing scientist and his family. Whether the two cases are linked is something only the Central Computer knows, and it is not saying. The Dirty Pair must piece the puzzle together before time runs out for a grieving grandfather, his family and the universe itself. The single OVA mixes action, adventure and comedy in a science fiction setting.
