Bolt Crank accepts jobs nobody else will touch, then solves them by eating the problem and spitting out the answer. The show treats this absurd power like it's the most natural thing in the world, never winking at the camera. What hits is the disconnect between the ridiculous premise and the dead-serious noir tone, a man of principle operating in a world that has no use for principles, armed with nothing but his stomach and his code.

Bolt Crank works as an explorer, a mercenary who only takes jobs that fit his moral code, in a world where explorers are rarely trusted and every contract carries risk. He calls it the only work he is good at, yet he is the best in the trade, helped by a bizarre talent: he can eat anything, metal included, and later bring it back out whole and working, even producing weapons from his hand. Quiet and hard to read, Bolt drifts from job to job through a world of advanced technology and strange science, earning money and sometimes rescuing people in trouble. Beneath it all, he simply wants to be normal. The series mixes action, adventure and science fiction.
