Shinji finally gets to just live. Not pilot, not suffer, not save the world, just exist in the wreckage with people who want him there. The world lies broken after the Fourth Impact, and Shinji, Asuka and Rei are left without their Evangelions. They find shelter in Village 3, a survivor settlement spared from the ruin around it, where Shinji gradually reckons with his past and builds a life far removed from his time as a pilot. The movie is the fourth and final film in the remake of Neon Genesis Evangelion, a psychological mecha drama with heavy action and science fiction.
