Li Xiaobai enters Faerie Continent, an immersive single-player game, joins the Xianyu Sect of the Northern Territory, and becomes the seventh disciple of Feng Lingzi on Misty Peak. Then he discovers he cannot leave. An unknown person has modified the game's system, trapping him inside, and his only way out is to finish the last mission: saving the world. His tool for the job is an odd system that raises his attribute points whenever he gets beaten up, and it is so single-minded that those points can only go into defense. With it, Li Xiaobai begins the main storyline at the sect's Grand Competition, where a string of strange moves carries him into the top ten. That finish earns him a trip to the Divine Beast Mountain Range, where slaying monsters can win him a place studying at the Holy Demon Sect. Expect game-world fantasy action built on a defense-only hero and his unusual methods.
