It rewards patience like almost nothing else in donghua. Han Li is still the least romantic protagonist in cultivation fiction, a guy who wins by hoarding talismans, stacking pills, poisoning first and apologizing never, and running the second a fight stops being profitable. Twenty-five episodes deep into the righteous-versus-devilish dao grind, the CGI has stopped being a compromise and started being the point: sword streaks, the Green Bamboo Bee Cloud Swords splitting midair, formation light swallowing whole valleys. And because it never resets, every hoarded spirit stone and every favor called in from the Yellow Maple Valley days is money in the bank paying out here. Autoplay is a trap and you know it. You will tell yourself one more episode while Han Li calmly sizes up someone who has no idea a mortal-born nobody is about to ruin their entire century.
