A corrupt king, a spirit wearing a woman's face, and the general who has to burn it all down to save what's left. Fengshen Bang knows that every revolution devours its architects, and it doesn't look away from that cost. The battles matter less than the people who don't survive them.
A tyrant rules the Shang dynasty. King Zhou falls under the spell of his concubine Daji, a vixen spirit disguised as a beautiful woman, and he oppresses his people and punishes anyone who opposes him, even his own subjects who speak out. Ji Fa, King Wu of Zhou, raises an army to bring him down and restore order, guided by the strategist Jiang Ziya. Yuanshi Tianzun grants Jiang Ziya the Fengshen Bang, a list that lets him appoint the gods of Heaven. As Shang and Zhou go to war, both sides call on deities, immortals, demons, spirits and magic users to fight for them. Adapted from a classic Chinese novel, the film is an action fantasy.
