At the twilight of the Tang Dynasty, a peasant uprising tears through the land, and two foreign slaves find themselves caught in the middle of it, pushed forward as human shields by local warlords. They survive the initial slaughter, only to become targets themselves as the rebels turn their hunt toward them. Across a fractured, war torn world, the two must search for someplace, anyplace, that might count as home.
