Xiao Yan's relationship with Yao Lao stops being mentor-and-student and becomes the emotional core that makes every power breakthrough hurt instead of just hitting. The battle sequences don't just showcase magic, they're conversations between fighters, each move revealing character and history. You need Season 2 Special context to fully understand what's happening with Hai Bo Dong and the Medusa Queen, so this isn't a solo entry point, but if you've already committed to this franchise, S3 knows exactly what you came for: watching Xiao Yan close the gap between himself and the people he's chasing, one impossible fight at a time.

Xiao Yan and his teacher head into a snake-infested desert in pursuit of the Magic Flame, a quest that provokes Yue Mei, leader of the Snake Tribe. With Xiao Yan close to death, a masked figure known as the Master of Fight steps in to save him, though the stranger turns out to be after the same flame. When the tribe refuses to give it up, a clash erupts, and Xiao Yan uses the chaos to track the flame and go after the tribe's queen. This ONA season mixes action, adventure and fantasy with elements of mystery and romance.
