Tabuchi keeps trying to win by himself, and the universe keeps punching him in the face for it. This is 1980 absurdist comedy where a real baseball team gets destroyed by cartoon logic, rubber-limbed teammates, and the simple fact that heroic effort means nothing when nobody else is helping. By the time you reach this movie, you're watching a man learn that stubbornness alone doesn't carry a team, other people have to show up too, even when they're incompetent, even when it hurts.

Ganbare!! Tabuchi-kun!! Aa Tsuppari Jinsei is a 1980 comedy and sports movie from Tokyo Movie Shinsha.
