Kintarou Oe is a genius who finished all his university coursework and then walked away before graduating. Now he travels from place to place on his bicycle, the Mikazuki 5, picking up whatever part-time work he can find and taking any job, however undignified, to prove himself. He wants to learn about life, the world and women, and the road teaches him lessons no classroom could, from crooked politics to the fragile feelings of young women. In each place he meets women who come to love the hardworking drifter, but he always rides off before things can settle. The result is an ecchi adventure comedy built around one wandering student and his string of odd jobs.
