A single OVA that moves like it's being chased. Kogawa treats every frame like an experiment in motion, cutting at angles that shouldn't work but do, building momentum so relentless you don't have time to question why the story keeps fracturing. This is what happens when a legendary animator gets one episode to prove animation direction can be its own narrative.
Lid Kail inherits more than his father's legacy when the old man passes: he inherits a quest to hunt down Vaii, the embodiment of evil itself that has poisoned the world for generations. Determined to finish what his father started, Lid sets out across strange lands with companions Longn and Mimau, who share his resolve to end this ancient curse. Along the way, warriors Key and Bagda join their cause, each bringing their own reasons for wanting to see Vaii destroyed. The journey tests them repeatedly as they face obstacles both natural and supernatural, pushing them toward a final confrontation with the creature that seems responsible for all the world's suffering. But when they finally corner Vaii and emerge victorious, an unsettling truth becomes clear: defeating the evil in its physical form doesn't automatically restore balance to the world. The victory tastes hollow, raising harder questions about whether some problems can be solved through strength alone, or if true change requires something more fundamental.
