A kid picks up an alien artifact and instantly becomes the one thing that terrifies the organization hunting him, so now he's both the hunted and the hunter with no control over which side wins. The Guyver suit is a character in itself, not a power-up, it has its own hunger, its own will, and Sho's stuck negotiating with it while Chronos closes in. You watch a normal teenager disappear into something monstrous, and the show never apologizes for making that transformation cost him everything he was.

Sho Fukamachi is an ordinary high school student whose life changes when he looks into a strange explosion near his school. There he finds an alien device, one of three experimental units stolen from the secretive Chronos Corporation, and it bonds with him to form the Guyver, a powerful living suit of bio-armor. Chronos, a sinister group that hides behind a human face while secretly controlling the world, wants its property back at any cost. Hunted by its monstrous Zoanoid soldiers, Sho has to call on the Guyver's power to survive and to protect his friends. His fight against Chronos also begins to point toward the hidden origins of humanity and the beings known as the Creators. The result is sci-fi adventure built around brutal battles with bio-monsters.
