When a mother duck goes to visit her own mother, she leaves her duckling in the care of Mother Chicken. Mother Chicken's child, Xiao Hua, invites the duckling to join a game of Eagle Catches the Chicks, and the ducklings and chicks soon become good friends. Their bond is tested when the two youngsters argue over a bug and Xiao Hua stops speaking to the duckling. This adventure film follows how the two children get along and the shared experiences that teach them what friendship is worth.
