Issei is so aggressively, unironically committed to his perverted mission that the show's entire comedy structure hangs on his sincerity instead of punching down at him. The fanservice actually serves the jokes instead of stopping them dead, it's the punchline, not the interruption. Season two's action sequences have real weight and speed, then a character gets launched into someone's chest and the momentum never breaks because the show treats both moments as equally important.

Issei Hyoudou, a lecherous high schooler who dreams of becoming a Harem King, returns for a second season of supernatural trouble. Kiba, the normally calm Knight of the Occult Research Club, starts behaving strangely after spotting a familiar sword in an old photo. His past as the victim of a cruel experiment tied to the Holy Swords comes to light, and he now wants revenge. Devils, Fallen Angels and agents of the Church fight over those powerful blades, two sword-wielding girls arrive, and an old enemy reappears. Issei's red dragon Ddraig also senses his white rival Albion approaching. The mix is action, fantasy and romance, with plenty of comedy and fan service.
