Two introverted girls get adopted by a force of nature on day one, and the show never stops letting them breathe. Hyakko knows exactly what it is: four girls and a rotating cast of weirdos finding each other funny, finding problems small enough to solve together, finding the kind of friendship that doesn't need a plot to justify itself. The comedy lands because nobody is performing for the camera. It just watches them be exactly as awkward and genuine as real high schoolers actually are.

On their first day of high school, shy, clumsy Ayumi Nonomura and the reserved Tatsuki Iizuka end up lost on the vast grounds of Kamizono Academy. Their rescue arrives in the form of Torako Kageyama, an unstoppable personality, along with her quiet best friend Suzume Saotome. With Torako leading the way, and sometimes shoving, the girls and their classmates in class 1-6 work through the troubles of school, home life and growing up. The result is a comedy slice of life adapted from a shounen manga by Haruaki Katou.
