Kara no Kyoukai Remix: Gate of seventh heaven is an hour-long theatrical compilation that came out ahead of the seventh and final film. It gathers key themes and scenes from the first six movies and arranges them chronologically, starting with the second film and then moving through the fourth, third, first, fifth and sixth. Most of the footage is existing material, with some new scenes mixed in. At the heart of the story, Mikiya Kokutou meets Shiki Ryougi, a strange young woman in a kimono, in August 1995. When he learns they attend the same school, he tries to befriend her, and she slowly opens up, until he begins to see a deadly side to her.
