A loser superhero gets told he's actually royalty, then has to prove it by wrestling aliens in tournaments that somehow matter more than saving the world. The show doesn't care about stakes or logic, it cares about whether this ridiculous guy can become less ridiculous through sheer stubborn effort. Every fight is a tournament arc, every tournament is an excuse to introduce a weirder alien wrestler, every weird alien wrestler becomes your favorite character by episode three.

Kinnikuman is a superhero, though not a very good one. One day a person called Meat tells him that he is really the prince of a planet from another world. From then on he has to save the day again and again, battling wicked chiyojins and entering tournaments. He fights to prove himself to his family and to win both respect and money. The show blends comedy, adventure and sports competition.
