Part 2 continues the third season of Kusuriya no Hitorigoto as its second cour, a drama and mystery TV series from 2027. Earlier in the season, Maomao had gone back to her pharmacist work in the pleasure district and started investigating an anomaly she sensed during a morning meal at the Verdigris House. Jinshi, whose true identity as the Imperial brother had come to light, was weighed down by a final warning from Loulan about a calamity threatening the country, as talk grew of a shrine maiden misleading the public.
