A date gets cut short by a terror attack, but what really matters is that it doesn't undo what Kasahara and Dojo have already built together. The movie trusts you enough to know that protecting an author and fighting the Media Purity Committee are just the frame, the actual story is two people choosing each other while everything around them demands they choose duty instead. It earns an ending that actually resolves something instead of just stopping, which almost no anime movie bothers to do.

When a helicopter crashes into a nuclear power plant in a terror attack, Kasahara Iku and Dojo Atsushi are called back from their date. The government answers by widening the powers of the Media Betterment Committee, and because one of author Kurato Touma's novels resembles the attack, the committee is expected to go after him. At a journalist's request, the Library Defense Force becomes his bodyguard. As the LDF's leaders move to challenge the committee's new authority as unconstitutional, the task force juggles budding romance and a tense political fight in this action comedy film.
