The first episode spends thirty minutes on something most romance anime treats as a setup: what it actually feels like to want someone to want you back. Shizuka's shyness isn't a quirk to overcome through a montage. It's the whole point. The second episode pivots entirely, trading anxious longing for the mess of two people who already know each other trying to figure out if comfortable is the same as love. Neither story pretends there's a formula. Both move quietly, in the spaces between conversations, where real people decide if someone is worth the risk of being seen.

A few years after leaving school, a group of young women begin to think about settling down. Shizuka is the only one with no prospects, and her friends worry that her shyness will stop a good man from seeing her looks and character. They talk her into joining a matchmaking service called The Wedding Club. Her first match turns out to be a letdown, and Shizuka starts to doubt that marriage is in her future. The second episode turns to five sisters, four of them married. The cool, headstrong Kiyomi shows no interest at all in finding a husband. When a co-worker asks her on a date, her sisters persuade him to propose that same night, though her intimidating manner makes the plan anything but simple.
