Keaton doesn't solve mysteries, he notices what everyone else missed, then explains it like he's sharing a quiet truth over drinks. Every episode is a self-contained world with its own logic and weight, built around people who feel lived-in the moment he walks into the room. A man with a gun license and a doctorate uses both with equal care, never raising his voice when a sharper question will do the work instead.
Taichi Keaton, who is half British and half Japanese, is an archaeologist and a former SAS soldier who served in the Falklands War. He works around the world as an insurance investigator for Lloyd's of London, looking into fraud and solving mysteries. His real dream is to excavate an ancient civilization along the Danube, and the investigative work pays for that future dig. He handles often dangerous cases by drawing on his skills in investigation, archaeology and survival, along with his background as a professor and a soldier. The series is an adventure mystery drama based on Naoki Urasawa's manga.
