Nobody expects a Sanrio character to anchor a mystery that actually works. Hangyodon plays detective with the kind of deadpan sincerity that makes the absurdity land harder. The thief stays one step ahead because the show respects the puzzle enough to let it breathe, treating a single OVA like it has nowhere to prove itself. SYNOPSIS
Hangyodon puts on a detective hat when a clever thief named Ruze begins stealing from across the city. Armed with questionable deduction skills and an even more questionable sense of authority, this half-fish, half-pork cutlet mascot stumbles through investigations that somehow manage to work out anyway. His bumbling approach to mystery-solving becomes the real entertainment as he interrogates suspects, follows false leads, and generally makes a mess of police work with chaotic charm. The comedy comes from watching Hangyodon confidently blunder through cases while remaining utterly oblivious to his own incompetence. Every clue he misinterprets and every wrong conclusion he jumps to lands with absurdist timing. Ruze's thievery provides the mystery framework, but Hangyodon's catastrophic detective work is what drives each moment.
