Nobody expects a Sanrio character to anchor a mystery that actually works. Hangyodon plays detective with the kind of deadpan sincerity that makes the absurdity land harder. The thief stays one step ahead because the show respects the puzzle enough to let it breathe, treating a single OVA like it has nowhere to prove itself. You get the satisfaction of an actual mystery solved by a character design that should not be capable of solving anything. It's comedy and detection in perfect balance, which is rarer than it sounds.

Sanrio's Hangyodon takes on the role of a detective and goes up against an elusive phantom thief known as Ruze. Hangyodon sets out to crack the case of the thief who has made an appearance. A single-episode OVA, it blends comedy with a mystery built around the familiar Sanrio character.
