Otogi Manga Calendar is a short-form television anime from 1962 that teaches history through a character who has no idea what happened on a given day in the past. Each brief episode centers on a historical event. Photographs and film footage are sometimes mixed into the animation to show what took place. The series continues Instant History, which aired the year before.
