This is Evangelion stripped to its bones and fed nothing but fart jokes for three minutes at a time. It works if you find crude schoolyard humor genuinely funny, which means most people won't. The real move is watching it with someone who's never seen Eva, since the parody lives entirely in how absurd it is to turn existential dread into cafeteria chaos.

Petit Eva is a super-deformed comedy spinoff that parodies Neon Genesis Evangelion by recasting its whole cast as ordinary junior high students in Tokyo-3. At Nerv School, Gendo Ikari serves as principal and Misato is one of the teachers. The classroom holds three Rei sisters: a younger child version, the quiet Rei familiar from most of the original series, and a hyperactive, clumsy take drawn from the alternate-reality dream in the final episode. Evangelion Unit 01 attends as Evanchou, a human-sized robot who bullies the class, while the Jet Alone robot returns as JA-ko, a timid android girl. The result is a string of short, light school-life gags that poke fun at the original's heavy drama.
