Four minutes of pure chaos repeated twice with different casts. The joke isn't the gag, it's that you're watching the exact same chaos unfold in completely different registers, and somehow both versions are funnier the second time because you see what the structure was actually doing. This special exists to prove that a show can be stupid and structurally genius at the same time.

Popuko and Pipimi return for two more episodes of absurdist comedy, airing as episodes 13 and 14 of Pop Team Epic. Short, quick-tempered Popuko and tall, unflappable Pipimi keep hurling genres together, mixing parody with drama, action and crude gags, all in service of the show's running goal of becoming a real anime. The special aired in four versions on four broadcasters, named Blue Dragon, Vermilion Bird, White Tiger and Black Tortoise, and each version gives the characters a different mix of voice actors. The source is Bkub Okawa's four-panel gag manga.
