A burned-out adult babysitting three ten-year-old psychics with godlike power is the setup, but the show knows what it's really about: watching Hyoubu systematically dismantle everything BABEL believes in while the Children figure out if their handler is lying to them. The trio's actual friendship matters more than their ESP levels, which sounds basic until you realize the show spends real time on it instead of cutting away to another explosion. By the time PANDRA's philosophy starts making sense, you've stopped trusting the good guys, and that's exactly the point.

Kaoru, Shiho, and Aoi are ten-year-old psychics, and they are among the only people on Earth whose esper powers reach the highest possible level. Kaoru is a brash psychokinetic who moves objects with her mind. Shiho is a sarcastic psychometric who can read people's thoughts and the histories of objects. Aoi, the calmest of the three, can teleport herself and the others. Together they form The Children, a special team working for BABEL, an organization of espers devoted to stopping crimes before they happen. Kouichi Minamoto, an overworked young man, is assigned to watch over them and lead them in the field, a demanding job with three super-powered girls. The series mixes action, comedy and science fiction.
