After Romelia's party defeats the Demon King Zelgis, Prince Henri calls her useless for not fighting directly and breaks off their engagement. While the heroes celebrate their victory, she is shut out and sent home to a cold welcome from her family and society. Romelia refuses to give up. She holds a secret power called Grace that grants her remarkable luck. The Demon King is dead, yet his forces still threaten her homeland and hold her people in bondage. With no army, no healers, no money and only green recruits, she sets out to build a real military force. She takes fortresses from local lords, bargains with the church for healing, raises funds from merchants and trains her soldiers by hunting monsters. Romelia wages war with intelligence and determination, leading loyal followers to free her people and prove that the woman sent home in disgrace was never the failure.
