Su Bai, a novelist gathering material for his next book, travels to the hometown of a good friend: Xiaoshuijing, a secluded terraced village high in the mountains. In this fantasy world, everyone looks human but keeps animal features, and people live peaceful lives. There he meets the cheerful, charming Cu Nian Nian. Days in the mountains are filled with farming, harvesting, eating good food and catching fish, and this gentle comedy finds plenty of fun in that everyday country routine.
