Yuliy moves through every scene like he's already mourning what he's about to destroy. The animation frames his werewolf rage as something beautiful and terrible at once, which makes the violence feel earned instead of spectacle. A 12-episode sprint that trades breathing room for relentless momentum, it never quite builds the dread a vampire hunt deserves, but the train fight alone justifies the watch.
Tokyo, 1930. A mysterious group arrives at the capital's station carrying musical instrument cases that hide what they really are. These are the Jaegers, a varied band of vampire hunters sent by the V Shipping Company as bloodsuckers prey on the city and its victims multiply. Among them is Yuliy, their finest fighter, a werewolf and the only survivor of a vampire attack that wiped out his home village. Drawing on the power of his werewolf blood, he and his team officially back up the local police. Their true goal, though, is the Ark of Sirius, a mystical artifact said to be able to alter the fate of the world, and they must find it before the vampires can use it for their own destructive ends. Amid deadly battles and mounting conspiracy, the result is a supernatural action series set in Japan's imperial capital.
