A man with nothing left to lose pilots a ghost ship that shouldn't exist, hunting answers in the void between empires. The 1978 film strips Harlock down to his essential defiance: one pirate, one unsolvable mystery, one ship that feels alive because it's the only thing that still remembers him. You don't watch this for plot resolution. You watch it to understand why a man chooses the infinite dark over surrender.
