Summer finally gets the spotlight Rick's been hoarding, and it turns out she's the only one in the family actually equipped to handle something genuinely cosmic. The short doesn't waste time on setup, it drops you into a scenario where Summer's competence becomes the joke, not her inexperience. Rick's reduced to background noise for once, which is exactly why this works: watching the family's actual problem-solver navigate a literal god while her grandfather mutters in the corner is the premise the show should have tried years ago. It's only five minutes, which means it moves too fast to let the bit get tired. Comedy-first sci-fi that knows Summer was always the one worth following.

Summer's new boyfriend turns out not to be human, Jerry lands himself in trouble as he usually does, and Rick carries on being exactly who he always is. This one-episode Rick and Morty special is a sci-fi action short from Takashi Sano, the director behind the Tower of God series.
