As the first light of morning slips in and disturbs a shallow sleep, graffiti appears. The film is the second entry in the Bungaku Video series, a project that pairs contemporary Japanese literature with animation. It adapts Rakugaki, a 1999 poem by Makoto Takayanagi that was later included in the 2001 novel Yumeyume Waseruru Nakare. The film premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June 2025 as part of the official Off-Limits selection, and it won the Off-Limits Award there.
