A college dropout spirals through his worst decisions at the speed of a mania attack, narration tumbling over itself like he's trying to outrun his own regrets. A college dropout stops at a mysterious ramen stand late one night and meets an odd man who claims to be a god of matrimony. The encounter sends him back through memories of his disappointing university years in Kyoto. There, his only friend Ozu, a cruel and ghoulish figure, pushed him from hopeless romantic into a mischievous black cupid who spent his time splitting up couples on campus. Meanwhile he held feelings for Akashi, a reserved but kind younger engineering student, and his schemes kept getting in the way. When he regrets how he spent those years, he is thrown back to the start of college and given another chance. The result is a surreal, artistic mix of comedy, mystery and romance.
