A boy's voice is his mother's dream, then her killer, then a weapon in the hands of everyone who finds him. The soundtrack doesn't underscore this tragedy, it is the tragedy, each song another person using him up. By the end, you understand that the most beautiful thing about him is also the thing that breaks him.

Lang Wu Yao possesses a voice that transcends the ordinary, a supernatural gift cultivated through grueling training in mountain isolation under his blind mother. When tragedy claims her life, Lang is cast into the world alone, and his remarkable talent becomes a tool for wicked, greedy people who wear down his heart. Everything shifts when the princess of Xi You hears him sing. Finally given the stage his mother dreamed of, Lang rises to the imperial court, where musicians face one another in deadly performances staged to entertain the nobility. Then he hears rumors of the Sword Plundering Nemesis, a notorious bandit famed across Xi You for stealing magical weapons. Unknown to Lang, the thief's next target has been hidden by the emperor in the very castle where he performs. The result is a fantasy action drama in which music and danger are closely bound together.
