Two stories drawn from the Thunderbolt Fantasy side-story novels make up this action fantasy film, told as separate parts. The first goes back into the past of Sha Wu Sheng, the killer known as the Screaming Phoenix, and shows where he came from. The second turns to Shang Bu Huan in a tale placed between the first and second seasons of the series.
