Michio Mikita, a young schoolboy and only child, finds a mysterious alien baby whose spaceship has come down on Earth, and he takes the little one home as his own, much to his family's surprise. The baby, known as Ultra B or UB, wears red sunglasses and has a star-shaped mole on his left cheek. He soon proves to be no ordinary child: he can walk, speak in an imperfect way, and use magic. Grateful for the shelter, UB tries to help Michio out of trouble with his powers, but the results rarely go to plan, and the sight of a black cat makes him lose control entirely. Michio is clumsy and does poorly at his work, so UB's mischief tends to make things worse. This long-running comedy follows the pair through their many adventures together.
