Mito trades her blood for a roof over her head, then realizes the vampire who saved her actually wants her consent, not her submission. That one shift, a man asking instead of taking, reframes everything you thought you knew about power dynamics in romance. The show knows the difference between a fantasy of being needed and the terrifying vulnerability of actually being chosen.

Mito has hit rock bottom: jobless, homeless, and alone after losing her parents and being cast off by her relatives. When a vampire named Ruka offers her a place to live in exchange for her blood, she accepts without hesitation. There's just one catch: she is a girl disguised as a boy, and the deal puts her in a boys' dorm full of handsome residents with colorful personalities while she attends Hijirigaoka Boys' High School and works part-time at a cafe alongside Ruka. Ruka, unaware of her secret, showers her with affection in hopes of improving the taste of her blood. What starts as a survival arrangement becomes complicated fast, and as her bond with Ruka deepens, keeping her cover grows harder. Supernatural romance with real stakes, built on a girl who has nothing finding a home she could lose at any moment.
