A nameless cat shares a home with Mr. Kushami, an English teacher, and finds human beings unbelievably foolish. He keeps a running record of their silliest blunders. What draws his interest most is Mizushima, one of Kushami's students, who falls for Haruko, the only daughter of a businessman named Kaneda. This one-episode comedy special from 1982 adapts Natsume Souseki's humorous novel, following everyday human folly through the eyes of a sharp-witted cat.
