After Dao Zong, the supreme leader of the martial arts world, is killed in a conspiracy, the martial arts world falls into chaos, with many gang leaders dead or imprisoned. Yan Jiyu, head of Changfeng Pavilion, sends envoys to the sects, hoping to build a new "righteous" order with himself at the top. Meanwhile, the young and inexperienced Yang Ren is given the task of carrying a letter Dao Zong left behind. On the road, formidable foes surround him, but his passion and chivalry push him past his limits, and his martial skill grows quickly with each fight. He also meets a band of honorable, like-minded fighters. Unsure what the martial arts world ought to be, but certain it is not Yan Jiyu's vision, Yang Ren raises the banner of the Chengfeng Gang and draws together those who oppose Yan Jiyu, setting the stage for open war in this action fantasy.
