A man dies defiant against gods who find his resistance laughable, then wakes up as someone else's husband with a life he never chose. The show builds its entire weight on that one moment: the reset that isn't redemption, just a different kind of cage. Wu Geng Ji 2 refuses easy answers about what resistance means when the gods aren't even paying attention anymore.

At the close of the Shang dynasty in ancient China, Emperor Shou defies the will of the gods and openly vows to lead his people in resisting them. Zi Shou battles Tian Kui with courage, yet the gods looking down only laugh at him. He is then slain by Tian, a still greater god, and the Immortal Phoenix armor is shattered. Afterward, Wu Geng wakes up inside the body of Ah Gou and discovers that he now has a wife, Bai Cai. This second season of Wu Geng Ji is a supernatural fantasy action ONA that runs for 42 episodes.
