The lightning is faster this time. Season one proved it could make every punch feel like it cost something, and season two stops apologizing for being a show about a kid getting stronger, harder, faster, meaner. Chu Feng's arrogance isn't a flaw the narrative needs to fix anymore, it's fuel, and the animation knows exactly how to burn it.

A treasure hunt on Ten Thousand Demons Mountain is where this second season takes Chu Feng, and he goes there to save two friends. Su Mei and Su Rou tried to save him and were possessed by the Ice and Fire Pearls, which now puts their lives in danger. The pearls had lain dormant for a long time until Chu Feng, growing stronger, mastered divine thunder, both golden and blue, and that power disturbed them by accident. On the way he comes across Zi Ling once more, a girl who was gifted a divine body and whose past is mysterious, and he meets Jiang Wushang, a youth of the imperial dynasty. All of it starts in Qingzhou, where Chu Feng is a rising star. He attends the region's premier event, the Hundred Sects Conference, with Li Changqing, Master of the Qinglong Sect, and there a feud breaks out between him and Yan Yangtian, the powerful, domineering Master of the Lingyun Sect. The conference passes for a competition among sects, but it is really a conspiracy by Yan Yangtian.
