Jian Yi's teasing masks something real, and Zhan Zhengxi's deflection masks that he knows it. The show understands that the entire genre of high school friendship is built on what people refuse to say out loud, then lets you watch them almost say it anyway. Short episodes mean every scene has to land, so nothing wastes time, the goofy sound design and weird art style aren't cute distractions, they're the whole point, turning ordinary moments into something that sticks.

Jian Yi and Zhan Zhengxi have been inseparable since childhood, but their high school years introduce new complications to their dynamic. Jian Yi's playful nature masks something deeper, while Zhan Zhengxi's carefully constructed indifference cracks more often than he'd like to admit. Their world expands when Mo Guanshan, a rough-around-the-edges troublemaker, and He Tian, effortlessly charming and impossibly smooth, crash into their orbit. What emerges is a chaotic, messy, endlessly entertaining group of teenage boys navigating friendship, attraction, and the strange alchemy of growing up together. School festivals become battlegrounds for unspoken feelings. Casual moments turn charged. Teasing becomes a language all its own. The series captures that specific flavor of youth where everything feels urgent and fragile, where your friends are your entire world, and where the line between friendship and something more blurs constantly. Expect genuine laughter, blushing nervousness, and the kind of intimacy that only exists between people who know each other completely.
