These aren't bonus tracks dressed up in animation. Naoko Yamada took two songs that already broke you in the film and rebuilt them as pure visual poetry, letting the music lead instead of dialogue. Kyoto Animation's hand-drawn precision makes every frame feel earned, like the animators understood exactly what each note needed to become. Two new music videos come as bonus content on the limited first edition Blu-ray of Kyoto Animation's film adaptation of Yoshitoki Ooima's A Silent Voice manga. Kyoto Animation animated both, taking inspiration from the songs they accompany. The first is set to Koi wo Shita no wa, AIKO's theme song for the film. The second uses Speed of Youth, a track Kensuke Ushio composed for the movie. Naoko Yamada, who directed the film, handled the storyboards and technical direction for both videos herself, which makes them a short companion piece for viewers who have already seen the feature.
