In 2046, much of daily life runs on a virtual network, but bullying has not gone away, and Haruyuki Arita is one of its targets. Kuroyukihime, the most famous student at his school, brings him into Brain Burst, a program that speeds up thought until time seems to freeze, and he chooses to fight as her knight. Some time after the Dusk Taker incident, Haruyuki has become well known among Burst Linkers and is helping Kuroyukihime work toward the game's top level. Then a destructive storm during a territory battle throws him and his friends in the Nega Nebulus legion out of the program. As security cameras across Tokyo begin to fail, Kuroyukihime links the outages to the glitch, and Nega Nebulus has to win over the other legions to track down its source and get acceleration back. The film is a sci-fi action story.
