A dog with a rainbow afro that morphs to match whatever catches his eye walks through a world that exists purely to make you smile. Nothing happens in the way plots usually happen, there's no arc, no lesson, just a character so genuinely delighted by existence that his mood becomes contagious. This is comfort distilled to its purest form: the visual equivalent of a song you can't get out of your head.

Meet Afro Ken, a perpetually cheerful dog with a rainbow-colored afro. This good-natured, innocent pup is always happy to try something new. He is drawn to objects that look like him, and as he gets close to them, his afro changes to resemble them. He also belongs to a family tree of dogs with outrageous names, including Techno Ken, Funky Ken, Lord Ken and Super Afro Ken, all with wild hair. The exception is Normal Ken, whose hair is perfectly ordinary. Based on a San-X character, this single-episode 3DCG comedy OVA was produced by Bandai Visual and Sunrise and later aired worldwide on Animax.
