Summer in the 21st century brings Tokyo's Shinjuku ward to complete silence. Humans have vanished after a catastrophe nobody can explain, and the only living things left are strange animals fused with various pastries. Donyatsu, a creature that is part cat and part doughnut, spends his days in this ruined city with friends such as Begaru, a feline bagel, Ronya and Baumcougar. The world around them is bleak, yet the group enjoys every day, playing games and finding other ways to pass the time. The adventure is only loosely science fiction, and its short episodes of about two minutes each were shown ahead of feature films at Shinjuku Wald 9 and other T-Joy cinemas.
