SYNOPSIS
Summer in the 21st century brings Tokyo's Shinjuku ward to complete silence. Humans have vanished without explanation, leaving behind only peculiar hybrid creatures who've claimed the abandoned streets as their own. Donyatsu, a creature caught between cat and doughnut, navigates this strange new world alongside Begaru, a feline-bagel companion, and other impossible beings that defy categorization. What unfolds is a loose, dreamlike adventure through a post-human landscape where logic bends and the absurd feels perfectly natural. These creatures go about their days in a wasteland reclaimed by something other than nature, their interactions ranging from mundane to surreal. The series prioritizes whimsy over explanation, building its world through atmosphere and oddball character moments rather than exposition. This is experimental comedy dressed up as science fiction.
