A black cat demands blood in the softest voice possible. That's the entire joke, and it never stops working because the show knows exactly how unconcerned it is with being threatening. You get a supernatural premise stripped of all menace, leaving only a creature small enough to sit in your lap while asking for the one thing that should make it terrifying, and somehow that becomes the coziest thing on screen.

A stray black kitten, abandoned and too weak to stand, is close to death when a vampire finds him and takes pity on him. The vampire shares his blood, and the kitten transforms, sprouting fangs and wings and gaining a thirst for blood. Adopted by a girl named Misaki, the newly born Nyanpire settles into life as a house cat, hunting for blood and other red things to consume while coping with the trials of being a pet and the odd cats who live around the neighborhood. His favorite line is "Give me blood nya." The short-format episodes play this supernatural premise for comedy.
