A wanderer named Yukito arrives in a sleepy coastal town a week before its yearly festival, hoping to earn some money. Centuries earlier, Kanna, a princess and the last of a winged people, was kept locked in a castle because the world feared her. She fell in love with Ryuuya, a soldier and Yukito's ancestor, who tried to grant her wish to see the world beyond its walls and find her mother. He failed, and she was sealed away in the sky by magic, bound to suffer forever. As Yukito and Misuzu grow fond of each other, he learns how she is tied to that old story and must decide whether to walk away or try to lift the curse.
